In some Australian states, the EPA laws state that a Catch Can is not allowed to vent to the atmosphere.
Although the Flashlube Catch Can Pro only did this when the filter was blocked or the hose was not serviced, it did put us in a vulnerable position.
Seeing these changes coming into the industry we set to work at evolving the Flashlube Catch Can Pro in Germany. We are please to inform you that all stock coming out of Melbourne now has the updated Flashlube Catch Can.
This modification means the unit vents inwards.
The down side of this modification is that there is less indication of when the filter should be changed, so we have modified our instructions to ask for a solid 20,000 km change on the filter.
Please inform the customer to keep draining the hose as this remains that single biggest reason for the vehicle needing to vent.
If the hose is full or the element is in need of replacement and thus the internal venting is activated, then the performance of the system will be as if there was no catch can installed at all.
Thus this original oil mist will circulate through the system until the hose is drained or the element is replaced.
There is no need to replace existing FCCs in the market however it will prove to be an advantage moving forward as you see the opposition units not offering this feature.
